Rules and Regulations 2008 Intel Cup Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest – Embedded System Design Invitational Contest ("Contest") is hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University ("Host"), and sponsored by the Intel China Ltd. ("Sponsor"). The rules and regulations are detailed below. 1. The contest is open only to undergraduate students. The participants should be actively enrolled as a student at an accredited college/university during the contest. Every participated team may consist of not more than three undergraduate students, and a faculty mentor. 2. The contest will follow the method of open problem proposal. All the teams should finish their design in their own schools respectively. Teams must submit reports in time, and prepare the verbal presentations and project demo during appraisal period. 3. Teams cannot participate the appraisal for any reason, must return the equipment and software, which are provided by the Organization Committee. 4. The contest project can involve (but are not limited to) following areas: hardware, device driver, operation system, midware, and application. 5. The contest project must be developed on the embedded platforms provided by Organization Committee, which is based on Intel processor. 6. If a third party’s intellectual property will be used during the contest, participants shall secure such rights through proper licensing at its own cost. Participants shall be liable for the loss and claim resulted from the infringement of third party intellectual property, and protects the organization committee, host, sponsor, and client against any claim to the loss of damages. 7. The contest project intellectual property shall be owned by participated university. Intel, including Intel Corporation and its subsidiaries, shall have the right to freely to use and publish (not involved in technical detail) the contest project. If Intel will use the contest project for any other purpose, Intel should negotiate with participated university, and sign related agreement. 8. The organizing committee has the final interpretation of the contest. |
